Toyota's 2027 Prius gets dual-zone climate control and a new black paint option, while base prices rise by $205 across the lineup.

Toyota has unveiled the American-market 2027 Prius without any major technical overhaul. Both the standard hybrid and the plug-in version now get dual-zone climate control and a new black paint option called Inked. Sales begin this summer in the US, and base prices for both versions rose by an identical $205.

The front-wheel-drive Prius LE now starts at $28,755. Front-wheel-drive versions produce 194 hp, while all-wheel-drive models make 196 hp. Toyota rates the base trim at 55 mpg combined under the EPA cycle, and the LE AWD at 53 mpg.

The plug-in Prius SE starts at $33,980. That price doesn’t include Toyota’s mandatory $1,295 destination and handling fee, which brings the starting cost to $35,275 before local taxes or dealer add-ons.

The PHEV powertrain keeps its 2.0-liter engine, two electric motor-generators, and a combined output of 220 hp, with a 0–60 mph time of 6.6 seconds. A 13.6-kWh battery delivers up to 44 miles of electric range on the SE trim and up to 39 miles on other versions. Charging takes about four hours on a Level 2 station, or up to 11 hours from a standard 120-volt outlet.

The update boils down to climate hardware, a new paint color, and adjusted pricing — nothing more.
