General Motors finalizes production for the 2026 Chevrolet Colorado, ending in October 2026. Learn about trim options, engine specs, and the 2027 model refresh.

General Motors has finalized the production timeline for the 2026 Chevrolet Colorado. The popular mid-size pickup will cease production on October 16, 2026, at the Missouri plant. Notably, the model's production cycle will last about 15 months instead of the standard 12. This is due to the transition to the next version, expected for the 2027 model year, which will likely receive updates.

The 2026 Colorado has already received several changes compared to the current generation. These include new trim options, additional appearance packages, and updated exterior colors. However, some shades, such as Sunrise Orange, will be discontinued.

The pickup is offered in several versions, including WT, LT, Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2. All variants are equipped with a turbocharged 2.7-liter engine producing 310 horsepower, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

A full model refresh is anticipated in the coming years, potentially arriving in 2027 or 2028. Amidst competition in the pickup segment, Chevrolet aims to maintain its position among top vehicles through gradual updates and expanded configurations.

The Colorado remains an important model for GM, and the extended production cycle indicates stable demand. However, without a significant update in the near future, competition could intensify.
