The red Mustang chased across America in Liam Neeson’s new film looks like the 2026 Super Snake. Shelby will build only 300 of them, from $175,885.

The red Ford Mustang in the trailer for “The Mongoose” looks like the current Shelby Super Snake of the S650 generation. Yet neither the filmmakers nor Shelby have revealed where the picture car came from. The stunt crew could just as easily have used a regular Mustang wearing Super Snake body panels rather than one of the genuine collector cars.

On the production car the differences go well beyond the badges. Shelby builds the 2026 Super Snake on the Mustang GT Performance Pack and adds a 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger to the 5.0-liter V8. With it the output climbs past 830 hp, while without forced induction it stays at the standard 480 hp. The American run is capped at 300 cars.

Prices start at $175,885 with the donor Mustang included — but not the supercharger, which is fitted as a separate option. Of that total, $108,995 goes to the Shelby package, roughly 62% of the sticker. It brings 20-inch forged magnesium wheels, upgraded cooling, a Borla exhaust, a retuned suspension and carbon-fiber body parts.

32CARS.RU has previously covered a used 760-hp Shelby GT500 offered at $104,995. Against that car, the new Super Snake costs more than $70,000 extra, and the premium is not only about power: the new S650 generation, the limited run and an entry in the official Shelby registry all add to the bill.

“The Mongoose” reaches American theaters on October 30, 2026. According to the official synopsis, Liam Neeson plays a veteran accused of a crime he did not commit who leads police on a long chase across the country. The film will make the Super Snake more recognizable, but it will not answer the key technical question: whether a rare Shelby is really being wrecked in the stunts or a far cheaper Mustang is playing the part.
