Aletra’s second MPV: three-row newcomer heads to GIIAS 2026 without a name or a price

The Indonesian brand calls the newcomer the younger brother of the L8, but has yet to confirm the name, the price or even whether the car is electric.
Aletra is stepping into Indonesia’s steadiest family segment with a car whose powertrain has not even been named. The new three-row MPV makes its debut at GIIAS 2026, which runs from 30 July to 9 August at ICE BSD City. The brand calls it the “younger brother” of the L8, but is withholding the name, the price and the specifications.
The teasers show a tall, boxy body, slim LED headlights and inverted L-shaped daytime running lights. That layout looks more practical than the relatively low Aletra L8, though talk of sliding doors or a fully electric drivetrain has yet to be confirmed by the manufacturer.
The current L8 remains the reference point. The electric MPV measures 4812 mm long, its front-mounted motor is rated at 120 kW (163 hp) and 240 Nm, the LFP pack holds 64.74 kWh and the CLTC range reaches 540 km. Its official 2026 price stands at 488 million rupiah.
The price is what will define the word “younger”: a more compact body, or a genuinely affordable proposition. At the top of the segment the numbers usually surface well in advance — the Denza D9 2026, for instance, arrived with a Blade 2.0 battery and a 10 to 70% charge in five minutes.
Until the show opens, only three rows of seats, a position below the L8 and a focus on Indonesian families are confirmed. Calling the car an EV or a cheaper alternative is premature — the answers arrive no earlier than 30 July.
