Ford Customization: a $10,500 supercharger and a warranty on factory tuning

Ford has folded genuine accessories, Racing Parts and Custom Garage packages into one program. The Whipple kit lifts the Mustang GT to 810 hp and carries a three-year warranty when a dealer installs it.
Ford wants factory tuning to be as simple to order as any other option. Under the Ford Customization banner the company has pulled genuine accessories, Ford Racing Parts components and ready-made Custom Garage packages into a single system. Upgrades can arrive on a new car, be fitted at a dealership or bought separately, and a package installed before handover can be financed through Ford Credit like any other line on the contract.
The clearest example is the Whipple supercharger kit priced at $10,500 for the 2024–2026 Mustang GT and Dark Horse. It lifts the 5.0-liter V8 to 810 hp and 834 Nm, but only on cars fitted with the active exhaust. Without it, output stands at 800 hp. The engine needs fuel rated at 91 AKI octane or higher.
The real draw is a three-year warranty capped at 36,000 miles, or roughly 58,000 km. The catch is that the clock starts from the car’s original in-service date, and the kit has to be installed by a Ford dealer or an ASE-certified technician and then registered. Bolting it onto a two-year-old Mustang does not restart a fresh three-year term. The kit is also unavailable in California for 2026 model year cars: the CARB certificate covers only the 2024 and 2025 model years.
The second example is the Maverick pickup. Its standard 2.0-liter EcoBoost takes the turbocharger from the 2.3-liter Mustang unit, with a compressor wheel enlarged to 59 mm, a bigger Mishimoto intercooler and a fresh calibration. Claimed output is 300 hp and 430 Nm. At SEMA 2025 the truck appeared as the 300T project, and before the end of the year the package reaches showrooms as the SV300T for the XLT, Lariat and Lobo trims, either factory-assembled or dealer-installed with the factory warranty intact. Ford has not announced an official price; a company representative pointed journalists at roughly $5000, excluding tires and labour.
The in-house programme competes with independent projects: 32CARS.RU has already covered the 850-hp Ford Mustang Super Venom by Hennessey. Tuners offer more power, while Ford offers component compatibility, dealer service and predictable warranty terms.
Ford Customization lowers the risk of a botched build, but it does not remove the fine print: the build date of the car, the credentials of the installer and the road approval of each individual part still decide everything.
