Cupra Raval: 24,000 Orders Double the Forecast, but Deliveries Are Still Coming

Orders doubled Cupra’s internal forecast and EV orders jumped 85% in the second quarter. For now the record lives in the order book: Martorell still has to turn interest into registrations.
More than 24,000 orders have made the Cupra Raval the most successful launch in the brand’s history, doubling Cupra’s own internal forecast. For now, though, the record lives in the order book: large-scale deliveries are only just ramping up, and the plant in Martorell still has to turn buyer interest into actual registrations.
The Raval has already left its mark on the brand’s wider numbers. In the second quarter of 2026, orders for electric Cupras climbed 85%. Over the first half the brand handed 170,100 cars to customers, a record of its own, while deliveries of electric models added 7.2%.
Design alone does not explain the demand. The Raval is Cupra’s most affordable electric car and the first member of the Volkswagen Group’s new urban line-up. It is built in Spain on the shared MEB+ architecture alongside the Volkswagen ID. Polo. For buyers who care more about distance, versions of the Cupra Raval with up to 444 km of range are already available.
The demand has arrived at a convenient moment for the company. Operating profit at SEAT and Cupra rose over the first half from €38 million to €122 million, although the result was also helped by the China-built Tavascan being exempt from the European Union’s additional tariffs. Crediting the whole financial swing to the Raval alone would be premature.
The next test matters more than the pre-order record: whether Martorell can ship cars without stretching waiting times. Deliveries are what will show whether the Raval has become Cupra’s new volume hit or simply ran an unusually strong opening campaign.
