GM Specialty Vehicles: Escalade, Tahoe and Silverado arrive in the UK, more of Europe to follow

General Motors is entering Europe through a niche import scheme. Full-size Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC SUVs and trucks are now on sale in the UK, with more markets to follow.
General Motors isn’t rebuilding a mass-market dealer network in Europe — instead, the automaker has chosen a niche approach. Full-size American SUVs and pickups will be supplied through the GM Specialty Vehicles division and local distributors. The UK is the first market, with Italy, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Czechia, Switzerland and Sweden planned to follow.
The lineup includes the Cadillac Escalade, the long-wheelbase Escalade ESV and the supercharged Escalade-V, alongside the Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban and Silverado 1500. In the UK, the GMC Yukon and Sierra are also on offer. The vehicles come directly from GM, go through local homologation and get a three-year, unlimited-mileage warranty. Two more years of coverage can be purchased separately.
European pricing shows just how niche this comeback really is. The Chevrolet Tahoe RST starts at £86,000. The Cadillac Escalade is priced from £149,950, while the Escalade-V starts at £199,950.

That money buys hardware that has all but disappeared from Europe’s premium segment: body-on-frame or truck-based vehicles with all-wheel drive, a ten-speed automatic and a 6.2-litre V8. The Tahoe measures 5,367 mm long and 2,057 mm wide, while the Escalade ESV stretches to 5,763 mm. With mirrors extended, the Escalade spans about 2.38 metres in width, so ordinary parking spaces and narrow city streets will be a bigger constraint than the engine’s output.
Fuel economy will also factor into the overall running costs. The Tahoe is rated at 17.1 mpg (UK) — roughly 16.5 l/100km. The Escalade-V comes in at around 19.8 l/100km. GMSV notes that these figures are calculated estimates and haven’t been confirmed under WLTP testing.
GM already had a presence in Europe through electric Cadillacs and limited Chevrolet Corvette deliveries, so the new programme is better described as an expansion than a return from scratch. Its practical advantage is a factory-backed supply chain, a clear warranty and GM-approved service. Buyers should still check parts availability, insurance costs and whether a car nearly six metres long will actually fit in a standard garage.
