Hyundai unveils plans for India, including a compact electric crossover, three-row SUV, and updated Creta with hybrid options. Flexible lineup targets mass and premium markets.

Hyundai has unveiled plans to expand its model lineup in India, targeting multiple segments simultaneously—electric vehicles, hybrids, and new SUVs. The company aims to cover both the mass market and more premium offerings.

The first new model will be a compact electric crossover, expected by the end of 2026. It will compete with affordable EVs and likely feature high localization to reduce costs.

At the same time, Hyundai is developing a new three-row SUV that will slot between the Alcazar and Tucson. This model targets family buyers and may come with a hybrid powertrain.

One of the key projects remains the next-generation Creta. The updated model will feature a new platform and, in addition to traditional engines, will offer a full hybrid for the first time.

In the longer term, Hyundai is considering introducing the large Palisade SUV to the market, which could serve as the brand's flagship.

According to the company, Hyundai will also continue updating current models and explore bringing global vehicles to new markets.

Overall, the company's strategy appears to avoid betting on a single powertrain type. Instead of a sudden shift to electric vehicles, Hyundai is building a flexible lineup where EVs and hybrids complement each other. This approach allows for quicker adaptation to varying market conditions and reduces risks during a period when EV demand remains unstable and heavily dependent on infrastructure.
