Ford F-150 2027: The New 3.0-Liter EcoBoost Won’t Come With the Full Tow/Haul Package

A leaked order guide shows the 2027 F-150 gets a 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6, but power, torque and towing figures remain unconfirmed.
Bumping the displacement from 2.7 to 3.0 liters looks like a straightforward upgrade for the Ford F-150. Yet the preliminary order guide doesn’t reveal horsepower, torque, or fuel economy for the new engine. On top of that, the full Tow/Haul package can’t be ordered with it — a puzzling restriction for a full-size pickup’s base engine.
According to the leaked document, the 3.0-liter V6 EcoBoost — option code 99C — will replace the previous unit across most volume trims of the 2027 F-150. The new engine is listed for XL, STX, XLT and lower-tier Lariat models. Ford has not officially confirmed the changes yet, so the configurations could still be revised.
The current 2.7-liter EcoBoost makes 325 hp and 400 lb-ft (542 Nm), and it’s standard on the 2026 F-150 XL and XLT. The 3.0-liter version of the same Nano family, used in the Ranger Raptor, produces 405 hp and 430 lb-ft (583 Nm) — but those figures can’t be assumed for the F-150, since turbo tuning, cooling and software calibration can differ.
Dropping Tow/Haul doesn’t mean the new F-150 can’t tow: an integrated trailer brake controller will still be available separately. But buyers lose the full factory package unless they step up to a different engine. Pricing and maximum towing capacity haven’t been published yet.
For now, the 3.0-liter EcoBoost can’t be called an improvement: until power, fuel economy and towing figures are published, the only confirmed change is the larger displacement.
