Subaru unveils E-Outback, Uncharted and Solterra at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show
At the 2026 Brussels Motor Show, Subaru launches the electric E-Outback with AWD, 500 km WLTP and fast charging, plus the new Uncharted and updated Solterra.
The 2026 Brussels Motor Show marked a pivotal moment for Subaru: the Japanese brand introduced three electric models to European audiences at once, signalling a deliberate pivot toward a battery-powered lineup. Center stage went to the new E-Outback, joined by the Uncharted and a refreshed Solterra.
E-Outback: a legendary name in an electric format
The headliner is the Subaru E-Outback, which carries the iconic Outback name into the EV era. The model features a 74.7 kWh battery and a dual-motor setup rated at 280 kW, good for a 0–100 km/h sprint of about 4.4 seconds.
Range is estimated at roughly 500 km on the WLTP cycle, and fast charging from 10 to 80% takes around half an hour, even in freezing conditions. On paper, those figures should make daily use—and longer detours—feel straightforward.
All-wheel drive and an off-road mindset
Despite its electric heart, the E-Outback holds on to the model’s core values. All-wheel drive, 210 mm of ground clearance, the Dual X-Mode system, and towing capability up to 1.5 tonnes underline its readiness for life beyond the tarmac. Subaru positions it not as a city crossover but as a genuine high-clearance wagon—only without an exhaust. The message rings true to the Outback’s long-standing brief and is likely to resonate with loyal owners.

Safety and practicality
The E-Outback comes with an expanded suite of electronic aids, including functions for emergency stopping and secondary-collision mitigation. The cabin is roomier than in the Solterra, and the luggage area is shaped for real-world use—from long trips to active weekends. That mix reads as a family-friendly EV that’s ready to work.
Uncharted and Solterra: expanding the lineup
Brussels also saw the debut of the compact electric crossover Subaru Uncharted, offered with front- or all-wheel drive and a driving range of up to 600 km. The updated Solterra MY26 gains more power, sharper acceleration, and improved charging, while retaining its five-star Euro NCAP rating. The direction is clear: the EV range is being tightened and refined, not treated as a side project.
With the E-Outback, Subaru aims to show that an electric car can remain very much a Subaru—complete with all-wheel drive, generous ground clearance, and a focus on tough conditions. For the brand, electrification is presented not as a compromise but as a new expression of a familiar philosophy.
