BYD Denza D9 OTA 1.5.0 adds motion-sickness mitigation, smarter ADAS and Sentinel mode
BYD's 2025 Denza D9 gets OTA 1.5.0 with motion-sickness mitigation, driver assistance, Sentinel mode, EV route planning, UI updates and reduced standby drain.
BYD has released the 1.5.0 over-the-air software update for the 2025 Denza D9. Rolling out from January 8, it applies to various trims and brings both comfort features and broader driver-assistance capabilities. The headline addition is an intelligent motion-sickness mitigation system.
Its algorithms analyze vehicle movement and suspension behavior to ease passenger discomfort—especially relevant for a large family minivan. Certain versions also gain a privacy-focused noise-isolation mode. Overall, the update meaningfully expands the scope of the assistance suite.
Denza D9 now supports new scenarios for lane-change assistance, emergency obstacle avoidance, maneuvers on damaged road surfaces, and parking, including automatic U-turns and entry into challenging spaces. Electric versions add intelligent route planning that factors in charging stations.
There’s also a new Sentinel mode with the ability to store and review video recordings through the BYD app, expanded voice functions with AI feedback, and upgraded navigation and reminders, including alerts if the charge-port lid is left open.
Beyond the new tools, BYD has refined the infotainment interface and reduced background energy use in standby, which helps preserve range and improves day-to-day convenience.
OTA updates are shaping into a key competitive lever for BYD: the Denza D9 keeps evolving after purchase, increasingly behaving like a device in a modern tech ecosystem. Crucially, these changes land where owners notice them—less queasiness on the move, a quieter cabin when needed, smoother lane changes, and more confidence on longer trips thanks to smarter planning.
