Renault Twingo Electric goes on sale in Europe: Techno first
Renault launches the Twingo Electric in Europe from €21,600. Techno arrives first, Evolution follows in spring. 60 kW motor, 27.5 kWh battery, 262 km range.
Renault has officially launched European sales of the new Twingo Electric—a compact city EV returning to the brand’s lineup in fully electric form. The rollout breaks with convention: instead of the entry model, a higher-spec version is the first to hit showrooms.
How sales are starting
According to Tarantas News journalists, the Techno trim is available from €21,600. The more affordable Evolution, aimed at keeping the entry barrier low, will follow in spring. This approach lets Renault position the car a notch above the bare-bones city EV segment from day one.
Twingo Electric: the hardware
Both versions use the same 60 kW (82 hp) electric motor and a 27.5 kWh battery. The claimed range reaches 262 km by factory data, which matches typical urban use and short trips; on paper, that’s a sensible target for a city runabout.
Equipment and market logic
The differences come down to equipment levels. The base Evolution brings a 7-inch infotainment screen, climate control, and rear parking sensors. Techno adds navigation, a fold-flat front passenger seatback, and One-Pedal Drive. For Renault, leading with Techno highlights the model’s tech-forward character and should support margins at launch; for buyers, it makes the first wave of cars feel more complete rather than pared back.
