MINI Paul Smith Edition debuts at Japan Mobility Show 2025 with Nottingham Green accents, Paul Smith stripe, minimalist cabin on Cooper 3/5-door and convertible
The production MINI Paul Smith Edition made its debut at the Japan Mobility Show 2025 in Tokyo, the result of a long-running collaboration between the British marque and the renowned designer. The series leans into the brand’s “classic with a twist” ethos, weaving together elegance, wit, and modern sustainability.
At the heart of the look is Nottingham Green, a nod to Paul Smith’s hometown. The hue highlights the mirrors, grille, and wheel caps, while the roof wears the famous signature stripe—an instantly recognizable Paul Smith hallmark.

Inside, minimalism meets crafted detail: dark blue sport seats trimmed in Vescin and knitted fabric, vivid contrast stitching, a welcoming “hello” projection when the door opens, and an engraving that reads “Everyday is a new beginning.” The blend of restraint and playfulness lands cleanly, and the sustainability cues come across as part of the design rather than decoration.
Paul Smith indicated that the MINI channels his sense of irony and freedom, while Head of MINI Design Holger Hampf noted that the series is intended as more than just a car, expressing a shared vision of British optimism and a sustainable future.
The Paul Smith Edition will be offered on the MINI Cooper in three- and five-door body styles as well as the convertible, continuing the collection after the MINI STRIP and Recharged projects.
