Leapmotor B05: Europe-bound compact EV with 460 km range

Leapmotor B05 debuts in Europe: a sharp ID.3 rival EV leapmotor.com

Leapmotor B05, a Europe-bound electric compact, debuts in Brussels with 460 km WLTP, 67.1 kWh battery, 215 hp and 170 kW fast charging. Sales start in 2026.

Leapmotor has pulled the covers off the B05 in Brussels, its first electric compact tailored for Europe and aimed straight at a field dominated by the Volkswagen ID.3 and other big-selling nameplates. Entering the C-segment is a bold yet calculated step: a fast-maturing EV market rewards cars that knit together expressive design, modern tech and credible performance.

The B05 wears the brand’s cues with confidence: a low, stretched silhouette, a pronounced shoulder line, and a flourish rare for this class—frameless doors that underscore premium intent. The 19-inch wheels sharpen the stance, while a 2,735 mm wheelbase helps deliver a roomy cabin. Inside, there’s a panoramic glass roof, a 14.6-inch media display, a 12-speaker audio system, and a clear focus on comfort—from heated front seats to richly tuned ambient lighting.

Its electrical architecture centers on a ProMax battery integrated into the body structure, with a capacity of 67.1 kWh. The setup offers up to 460 km on the WLTP cycle and drives a 215 hp motor. Fast DC charging is supported at over 170 kW, and the 0–100 km/h sprint in 6.7 seconds puts the B05 at the brisk end of the compact EV pack.

Leapmotor has not disclosed European specifications or prices yet, but confirms sales will begin in 2026, with a possible early debut in the UK. On paper, the blend of design, technology and efficiency gives the B05 the makings of a serious contender in the compact electric segment.
