Kuhl turns the Land Cruiser 250 into a lifted monster truck for Tokyo Auto Salon 2026

Kuhl reveals a Land Cruiser 250 with 178 mm lift and 399 mm clearance on 37-inch tires, debuting at Tokyo Auto Salon 2026 as a kit or complete build option.

Japan’s Kuhl has once again gone beyond a simple makeover in favor of the kind of spectacle that makes you wonder how it’s even drivable. Under the Blocker Iron Build banner, the Land Cruiser 250 has been turned into a bona fide monster truck and is being prepped for a debut at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2026. Park it next to a stock SUV and this 250 looks like it belongs to another scale altogether.

The central idea is an extreme stance. Thanks to a height-adjustable suspension and JAOS components, the off-roader sits 178 mm higher than stock. Claimed ground clearance reaches up to 399 mm—on paper, higher than the AMG G 63 4×4². The look is capped by 37-inch Yokohama Geolandar M/T G003 tires on 22-inch Kuhl Verz DR03 wheels with a deep-dish design—a choice impossible to miss even from the next lane.

According to the automotive outlet Tarantas News, the body has been reinforced to suit both style and purpose: steel bumpers and hoops, heavy-duty side steps, tubular fender flares, a roof rack, and a 40-inch LED light bar. A roof spoiler and a separate add-on for the tailgate were installed purely to dial up the aggression.

Despite the show-car aura, this isn’t just for display. Kuhl plans to sell the upgrade kit or complete vehicles. The first example, based on the VX trim with the stock 2.7-liter gasoline engine, is priced at roughly 6.79 million yen, while the kit itself is around 920,000. For those who prefer something calmer, a more civil spec with 18-inch wheels and milder tires is in the works—though flying under the radar still won’t be part of the brief.
