BYD Sealion 06 EV update: new 75.6/82.7 kWh LFP packs, 620-710 km CLTC range and a 270 kW motor, with unchanged dimensions and strong sales, targeting 2026.

The new BYD Sealion 06 EV is nearing an update, and key figures have surfaced in regulatory filings. For the 2026 EV landscape, it’s telling: the model keeps its familiar body and footprint but adds what buyers truly value—range and power. According to the published data, the crossover will offer two LFP Blade battery options: 75.616 and 82.732 kWh. Claimed CLTC range is 620 and 710 km, respectively. Curb weight is listed at 2,040 and 2,080 kg, with battery masses of 538.6 and 571.3 kg.

For context, the current Sealion 06 EV uses 65.28 and 78.72 kWh packs that deliver 520 and 605 km CLTC. Pricing for today’s version in China runs from 143,800 to 163,800 yuan, which places the model firmly in the mass-market camp rather than the premium niche.

The headline upgrade is the electric motor. It was previously reported that peak output in the updated Sealion 06 EV will rise to 270 kW (362 hp) versus today’s 170–180 kW. An extra 90 kW at the top end points to a different level of real-world pace and confidence on the open road. Top speed is quoted at 210 km/h. Meanwhile, dimensions and wheelbase, per MIIT data, remain unchanged at 4,810/1,920/1,675 mm with a 2,820 mm wheelbase. The design stays in BYD’s Ocean family look, with a closed-off nose and a distinctive full-width rear light bar.

On paper, this is the kind of refresh that moves the needle: more distance between charges, more muscle, no penalty in size. Demand appears to echo that logic. In November, the Sealion 06 family (EV and PHEV) reached 35,081 units—four straight months above 30,000. Of those, the EV accounted for 17,458, and cumulative sales since its July 2025 launch stand at 134,665 units. That consistency suggests the formula is resonating with buyers.
