Subaru’s new teaser hints at a possible WRX STI, with a digital cluster showing boost, manual-gearbox cues, and a four-cylinder note unlike the boxer thrum.

Subaru has released a second teaser for a car that could well be the new WRX STI. The clip offers glimpses of the cabin, brief shots of the exterior, and a taste of the powertrain at work, yet the key specs remain carefully out of sight.

The video highlights a fully digital instrument cluster that differs from the standard WRX setup. It shows a boost-pressure readout, a detail not used on the production model before. The placement of the pedals suggests a manual gearbox, and the soundtrack backs that up with telltale rev drops on upshifts and throttle blips on downshifts—subtle cues enthusiasts tend to catch immediately.

The engine note, however, stirred mixed feelings. What’s heard is a four-cylinder without the pronounced boxer thrum long associated with STI, a departure that’s hard to miss. As for styling, the footage stays deliberately coy: tight angles and quick cuts keep it impossible to confirm whether there are wider fenders, a prominent rear wing, or any other signature add-ons.
