Seat expands coverage to an 8-year/160,000 km warranty from 2026, with yearly extensions tied to authorized servicing. Transferable to boost resale value.

Seat has announced an across-the-board extension of its warranty coverage. Starting January 1, 2026, the brand will offer a general warranty of up to eight years or 160,000 kilometers, whereas the previous factory standard was four years.

The base terms for the Ibiza, Arona, Leon and Ateca remain unchanged. However, when scheduled servicing is carried out at an official Seat dealer or a certified service partner, the warranty is automatically extended by one year. Owners can add these annual extensions until they reach the maximum limit.

The extended warranty is transferable. When the car is sold, the remaining coverage stays with it, which supports residual value on the used market and makes a well-documented service history even more meaningful.

Seat joins a growing group of automakers lengthening warranties amid fierce competition and rising ownership costs. For buyers planning long-term use, this policy reduces risk and potential repair expenses, while neatly linking warranty longevity to regular maintenance at authorized providers—a pragmatic step for today’s market.
