Volvo awards EX90 to My Volvo EX90 Story winner in South Carolina

Volvo Car USA has handed over a new, fully electric Volvo EX90 to the winner of its My Volvo EX90 Story sweepstakes. The prize went to Danny Temples from Aiken, South Carolina, and the symbolism is hard to miss: the SUV is built at Volvo’s South Carolina plant, so the winner drove home in a flagship made practically in his backyard.

The giveaway was part of Volvo’s campaign marking 70 years in the United States and celebrating the people whose stories have shaped the brand’s reputation. Participants were invited to share their own Volvo story, with one of the company’s key electric crossovers as the reward. For the winner and his wife, Volvo arranged a private tour of the Volvo Car Charleston Plant in Ridgeville, after which they collected the vehicle from a dealership in Charleston.

The chosen spec reads like a brand showcase: an EX90 Twin Motor Performance Plus in Denim Blue with a Dawn Nordico cabin and a clear nod to the company’s Scandinavian calm design philosophy. From a PR perspective, Volvo underscores continuity—from the first PV444 that reached the U.S. via the Port of Long Beach to today’s electrified lineup and a milestone of 5 million new cars sold in the country.
