2026 Ford Mustang Mach‑E updates: fewer niceties, more paid add‑ons

With the arrival of the 2026 model year, the Ford Mustang Mach‑E gets a series of targeted tweaks—some of them not in shoppers’ favor. According to sources, seatback storage pockets have been removed entirely across the electric crossover’s range.

In the previous model year, those pockets were standard on every Mach‑E and counted as a handy, if low‑profile, cabin detail. For 2026, they aren’t available even as an option, and Ford has yet to offer an official explanation. It’s not the only cutback in equipment, and in day‑to‑day use it’s the kind of deletion you notice only when you reach for it.

The new model year also drops the standard front trunk—the so‑called frunk. It’s now a paid extra on all trims. In addition, the Bronze Appearance package with bronze accents disappears from the configurator. At the same time, Ford partially offsets the pared‑back feature set with a few fresh offerings.

A California package joins the lineup, offered exclusively on the 2026 Mustang Mach‑E GT. It brings distinct styling with Rave Blue accents on the wheels, badging, grille, and in the cabin.

The Mach‑E Rally graphics can now be ordered separately, without the Rally package. The body‑color palette drops Molten Magenta and Grabber Yellow, replaced by three new shades.

Red‑painted brake calipers have also been removed from the Sport Appearance and GT Appearance packages. Pricing for the 2026 Ford Mustang Mach‑E had not been officially announced at the time of publication.
