Subaru and Hoonigan unveil Gymkhana: Aussie Shred, starring Travis Pastrana in the 670-hp BratRoo 9500 Turbo with wild stunts from the Outback to Mt Panorama.

Subaru Motorsports USA and Hoonigan have unveiled the latest Gymkhana chapter, Aussie Shred. It is the third project with Travis Pastrana, and the team sets the tone from the outset with claims of the biggest jump and the most dangerous stunts in the series to date. The action ranges across Australia—from the red Outback to Sydney Harbour and the legendary Mount Panorama in Bathurst.

The headliner is the new Subaru BratRoo 9500 Turbo, built from a 1978 Subaru BRAT (essentially the pickup version of the Leone). Developed by Subaru of America with technical partner Vermont SportsCar, it packs a turbocharged 2.0-liter boxer with rallycross roots, delivering 670 hp and revving beyond 9,500 rpm. The car also carries the most advanced active aerodynamics the series has seen.

Pastrana says the BratRoo is the wildest Gymkhana car he has driven, and the footage leans into that claim: there are moments with the rear wheels lifting off a pier, a leap across a canyon, skimming over water, and other sequences played right on the edge.

Local motorsport standouts also appear, including Toby Price and Chris Atkinson, while the finale carries a respectful nod to Ken Block’s legacy—the spark that, for many, ignited Gymkhana as a cultural phenomenon. That thread of respect keeps the spectacle grounded even as the stakes escalate.
