Audi E7X: specs, size and tech for China's new electric crossover
Chinese regulators detail the Audi E7X electric crossover: aero design, lidar, 5,049 mm length, 300-500 kW power, RWD or quattro. China launch set for 2026.
Chinese regulators have released data on the series-production AUDI E7X electric crossover—a model from Audi’s China-focused sub-brand. The vehicle closely echoes the previously shown concept, trading the traditional grille for a closed front panel and a reworked lower air intake; the shapes also suggest active shutters. Taken together, the smoothed nose and aero-minded details point to efficiency as a priority.
The equipment list notes both conventional and camera-based digital mirrors, additional cameras or sensors on the front fenders, flush door handles, and a roof-mounted lidar. Wheel sizes are listed at up to 22 inches, a clear nod to the segment’s taste for stance and presence, with a tech-forward twist.
In terms of size, the E7X is a large crossover: 5,049 mm long, 1,997 mm wide, and 1,710 mm tall, with a 3,060 mm wheelbase. That makes it roughly 20 mm shorter than the current Audi Q7 but with a wheelbase that’s 66 mm longer. At least one four-seat interior configuration is confirmed—those proportions should pay dividends for rear-seat space and overall ride comfort.

There are no interior photos yet, but unification with the E5 Sportback seems likely: a wide display spanning from pillar to pillar (27 inches on the E5) and an AI assistant presented as a digital avatar, along with an expanded comfort package. Versions are announced both without quattro and with quattro, which should give buyers a clear choice between efficiency and all-weather traction.
The base model is set to use a rear-mounted electric motor rated at 300 kW (402 hp), while the all-wheel-drive variant is listed at 500 kW (671 hp) with a top speed of 230 km/h. The launch is confirmed for 2026, with fuller details expected as sales approach.
