Kia Sportage facelift: more premium design and smarter tech
Explore the Kia Sportage facelift: upscale design, dual 12.3-inch screens, OTA updates, CarPlay/Android Auto, and efficient hybrid and mild-hybrid powertrains.
Kia has refreshed the Sportage, and the rationale is clear: the crossover has surpassed 7 million units sold and now aims to look and feel more upmarket than before. The fifth-generation facelift is most noticeable up front, with a different lighting design, a new bumper and grille, plus an updated light signature.
The rear has been revised more cautiously to preserve its identity. The model has grown slightly in size, and the wheel lineup spans roughly 17 to 19 inches, depending on market and version.

Inside, the emphasis shifts to digital features. Two 12.3-inch screens (instrument cluster and infotainment), wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, over-the-air updates, and function expansion via services and apps move the Sportage closer to pricier SUVs. At the same time, Kia drops divisive choices like glossy piano black and reworks materials and ergonomics—an understated change that should make everyday use more pleasant.
The technical lineup still bets on versatility: gasoline versions, a diesel with a 48V mild-hybrid system, and a non-plug-in hybrid to cover city driving, highway trips, and those keeping an eye on fuel costs. Overall, the updated Sportage comes across as an effort to hold onto its status as one of the most sensible crossovers in the class, now with stronger arguments in equipment and technology.
