Volkswagen confirms ID. Polo EV for EU, starting at €24,990
Volkswagen unveils the ID. Polo EV for Europe from €24,990. Register interest now; orders open after Dec 15. Expected range and space to rival Renault 5.
Volkswagen has announced that the new electric ID. Polo will launch in the EU with prices starting at €24,990. The company had previously floated a €25,000 target and has now made it official. Interested buyers can register their interest today, with orders expected to open after December 15.
At around 4.05 meters long, the ID. Polo is set to square off against the Renault 5, which at a similar price point offers 95 hp and a 310-kilometer range from a 40 kWh battery. While Volkswagen hasn’t shared the ID. Polo’s specifications yet, expectations point to a comparable driving range and a touch more cabin space — a sensible angle for a car aimed at everyday use rather than headline numbers.
To keep that entry price intact, the base specification of the ID. Polo may be streamlined. The model is positioned for the compact EV segment where buyers are weighing value above all, and a lean, well-judged starter version would make sense if it delivers the space and range Volkswagen is expected to bring to the table.
