Lucid Gravity Touring real-world test: price, range, charging

We examine the Lucid Gravity Touring: $79,990 price, 540 km EPA range, 300 kW fast charging, plus real-world results showing early taper after 70%, city-ready.

Lucid has brought the Gravity Touring to market—the most attainable version of its large electric SUV. Pricing starts at $79,990, $15,000 below the Gravity Grand Touring, and the savings come from predictable cutbacks: a smaller battery, lower output, and simpler charging capabilities.

The Touring uses an 89‑kWh pack with roughly 700‑V architecture. DC fast charging peaks at up to 300 kW, which, according to Lucid, can add around 320 km of range in 15 minutes. The EPA-rated range is 540 km. By comparison, the Grand Touring fits a 123‑kWh battery, runs at over 900 V, and can hit up to 400 kW, with a claimed 725 km of range and the ability to add roughly 320 km in under 11 minutes.

Reality matters more, though. In Out of Spec Testing’s video measurements, the Touring was fast-charged from 0 to 100 percent on a high-power station with a warmed-up battery. The session took 1 hour and 14 minutes end to end, and the brisk part of the curve wraps up early. It reached 50 percent in 12 minutes, 70 percent in 20 minutes, and 80 percent in 25 minutes. After about 70–80 percent, power drops sharply; staying on a fast charger past 80 percent rarely pays off unless waiting around doesn’t bother you. In that test, the peak was roughly 310 kW at the start, about 113 kW by 70 percent, around 80 kW at 80 percent, and then it fell off further.

There’s also efficiency to consider: in highway measurements it didn’t deliver standout numbers, which could make real-world range noticeably shorter than the rating. So the Touring is ultimately a question of use case. It makes plenty of sense for city duty and moderate trips, while on longer routes the smaller pack and the early taper after 70 percent can wear on your patience.
