Alfa Romeo Junior Sprint: the automaker prices hybrid and electric versions identically

Alfa Romeo has launched the limited-edition Junior Sprint in the Netherlands. Both the hybrid Ibrida and electric Elettrica start at €37,450, positioned between the Entry and Ti trims.
The surcharge for the Alfa Romeo Junior Sprint comes to €1,500, even though Alfa Romeo itself values the “free” part of the extra equipment at €1,050. The limited edition launched in the Netherlands simultaneously for the hybrid Ibrida and the electric Elettrica — both cars are priced at €37,450. The new trim slots between the base Entry and the range-topping Ti.
Sprint brings no technical upgrade. The hybrid keeps its 1.2-liter engine, 48-volt electric motor and six-speed eDCT6 transmission, with combined output of 145 hp. The electric Junior uses the same powertrain rated at 156 hp.
The surcharge covers two-tone paint with a black roof, 18-inch Aero alloy wheels, glossy black trim, tinted rear windows, ambient lighting, aluminum pedals and a navigation-equipped infotainment system. The base Ibrida and Elettrica both cost €35,950.
There’s an awkward wrinkle here. Another €1,500 separates Sprint from the Ti trim at €38,950, which adds power-adjustable front seats, a leather steering wheel and an adjustable boot floor. That makes Sprint feel more like a design-led offering than a rational middle ground in the lineup.
The expanded Junior range fits into Alfa Romeo’s broader plans to refresh its lineup. But the choice here is simple: the savings versus Ti match the cost of stepping up from the base Junior to Sprint — exactly €1,500.
