Dacia Controls 98% of Germany's LPG Market: Here's What Owners Actually Save

Dacia now dominates Germany's new LPG car market with a 98% share, up 25% in sales. See how much owners save with Eco-G models.
The Dacia Eco-G advantage doesn’t start with lower fuel consumption. An LPG-powered car can use up to 15% more fuel than the equivalent petrol version. The savings come from the price of LPG, which in Germany runs roughly 50% cheaper than petrol on average.
Between January and May 2026, Dacia captured 98% of Germany’s new LPG car market, with sales up 25%. The top four spots in the segment went to the Sandero Eco-G with 2,191 units, the Duster with 1,532, the Jogger with 875, and the Bigster with 820 cars.
According to the manufacturer’s calculations, a Sandero owner driving 20,000 km a year can save around €580. That works out to roughly €2.9 per 100 km. The Jogger is rated for €650 in savings, the Duster around €410, and the Bigster more than €550.
The factory gas system leaves the standard petrol tank untouched and doesn’t affect the regular warranty. A gas tank enlarged to 50 liters lets the Sandero travel up to 1,655 km on both fuels combined. In Germany, the Sandero Eco-G starts at €14,790, while the gas-powered Bigster starts at €23,990.
Eco-G makes sense not because it burns less fuel, but because the math works out for drivers with regular mileage and easy access to LPG stations: Dacia’s benchmark for the Sandero is €580 in savings over 20,000 km.
