Kia EV6 GT beats Tesla Model Y and Polestar 4 in Auto Motor und Sport test
Kia EV6 GT tops Auto Motor und Sport EV comparison, beating Tesla Model Y and Polestar 4 with 609 hp, 3.5s to 100 km/h and standout braking and safety.
The Kia EV6 GT has taken first place in an electric-car comparison run by the German outlet Auto Motor und Sport. The group test brought together three contenders — the EV6 GT, Tesla Model Y and Polestar 4 — and scored them across seven criteria, including safety, comfort, driving dynamics and environmental performance. With 597 points, the EV6 GT finished comfortably ahead.
It led in four decisive categories: powertrain, handling, safety and body structure. The electric crossover delivers 448 kW (609 hp), rising to 478 kW (650 hp) when launch control is engaged. The sprint to 100 km/h takes 3.5 seconds, a quicker time than both the Model Y and the Polestar 4.
Braking tests told a similar story: coming to a halt from 100 km/h took 33.6 meters, a shorter distance than its rivals managed. The evaluation also highlighted a thoughtfully arranged control layout and a broad suite of driver-assistance systems, making the performance feel more approachable day to day.
These results strengthen the EV6 GT’s position among high-performance EVs and underline its influence on the rankings of Europe’s top cars. The brand plans to keep expanding its electric lineup.
