Lancia Ypsilon Electric: 771 km on a Single Charge, Thanks to Paris Traffic

Lancia's electric Ypsilon nearly doubled its official WLTP range during an 18-hour loop around Paris's ring road, averaging just 6.2 kWh per 100 km.
The electric Lancia Ypsilon covered 771 km on a single charge, completing more than 22 laps of the Paris ring road, the Périphérique. The car started with a 100% charge and finished with 2% remaining. Average consumption came out to 6.2 kWh per 100 km.
The result is well above the official WLTP figure of 425 km, though the numbers aren’t directly comparable. The test took place in real city traffic at an average speed of around 43 km/h — conditions where an EV barely spends energy fighting air resistance and can recover it constantly through regenerative braking. The run lasted nearly 18 hours.
The Ypsilon ran in Eco mode with the standard D regeneration setting. The production model uses a 115 kW (156 hp) electric motor and a battery with 51 kWh of usable capacity. Lancia made no technical modifications to the car for the test.
So 771 km shouldn’t be read as typical highway range. The test mainly shows the powertrain’s potential at low speed on a route that’s close to ideal for an EV. On the highway, consumption would be noticeably higher and range would land closer to the official rating — or below it.
