Nissan Note: Next Generation Expected in 2027 With a Price Increase

The next Nissan Note could arrive as early as summer 2027 and cost 100,000–300,000 yen more than today’s model. A Japanese outlet forecasts a starting price of around 2.45 million yen, climbing to as much as 3.4 million yen for the priciest trims. These timelines and figures are the outlet’s forecast, not an official Nissan statement.

The current third-generation Note arrived in 2020 and runs on second-generation e-POWER. In Japan, the base front-wheel-drive X grade officially starts at 2,328,700 yen.

The most likely technical change is a switch to third-generation e-POWER, which Nissan has already rolled out on the new Japan-market Kicks. The “5-in-1” layout packs the traction motor, generator, inverter, and reducer with booster into a single module. For the European Qashqai, Nissan claimed fuel consumption as low as 4.5 l/100 km and cabin noise cut by up to 5.6 dB versus the outgoing system. Figures for the future Note may differ, since its specifications haven’t been revealed yet.

For buyers of the current car, waiting could pay off with a quieter highway ride and potentially lower consumption at speed. Buying the current Note still makes sense with a solid discount: its price is known, the hardware has years of real-world use behind it, and a price hike for the next generation looks all but certain even on the more cautious forecast.

Before ordering a new Note from Japan, it’s worth waiting for factory data on power output, battery, all-wheel drive, and warranty coverage for the e-POWER components. Packing several components into one module doesn’t by itself guarantee cheaper repairs once the warranty runs out.
