First images of the next-gen Opel Astra and Sports Tourer: redesigned Vizor with illuminated emblem, evolved lighting, and an expected electric version.

Opel has revealed the first images of the next-generation Astra and Astra Sports Tourer. The company says the upcoming version brings a more expressive design, updated technologies, and a refined lighting signature. The early glimpse points to a sharper identity without abandoning the formula that made the model a staple of the compact class.

The centerpiece of the look is a redesigned Vizor — Opel’s signature front panel. It is narrower, with crisper lines, and for the first time on an Astra the brand emblem is illuminated — a cue already used on the flagship Grandland. The treatment ties the compact into the brand’s latest face and gives the design a more assured presence.

Opel’s leadership notes that the new generation will preserve a blend of German engineering, practicality, and modern safety systems. Designers have also evolved the Opel Kompass theme, adding light elements inspired by the Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo show car. The reference adds a dash of concept-car flair without chasing drama for its own sake.

The company emphasizes that Astra remains developed and built in Rüsselsheim. An electric version is expected, with full specifications to follow later. For compact-class buyers who prize technology and a clean, contemporary aesthetic, this newcomer looks like one to keep on the radar.
