Volkswagen has unveiled the ID. Cross, an electric SUV the size of the T-Cross, with prices starting under €28,000 and up to 427 km WLTP range.
Volkswagen has unveiled the ID. Cross, a compact electric SUV roughly the same size as the combustion-powered T-Cross. Production will take place at the Spanish plant in Navarre, and the starting price is expected to stay under 28,000 euros.
At 4,153 mm long, the ID. Cross rides on a 2,601 mm wheelbase and offers 475 litres of boot space, plus another 25 litres in the front trunk. On practicality, the ID. Cross beats the T-Cross, whose main boot is 20 litres smaller.

The model sits on the front-wheel-drive MEB+ platform. Three motor outputs are offered — 116, 135 and 211 hp. The base LFP battery holds 37 kWh, while the larger NMC pack holds 52 kWh. Maximum WLTP range reaches 427 km, though that figure applies only to the longest-range configuration.
The smaller battery accepts up to 90 kW of DC fast charging and goes from 10 to 80% in 23 minutes. The 52 kWh pack is rated at 105 kW and 24 minutes. Both versions can draw up to 11 kW from a three-phase AC connection. Standard V2L lets owners power external devices at up to 3.6 kW.
The LFP version should be cheaper and better suited to frequent city charging, while the NMC pack delivers more range between stops. Real-world range for either version will depend on temperature, speed and heater use, so the 427 km headline figure shouldn’t be taken as a guarantee.

Inside, the cabin gets a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.9-inch infotainment screen running Android Automotive. Volkswagen has brought back separate climate control buttons, physical steering wheel controls and individual window switches for every seat — the main functions no longer require digging through a touchscreen menu.
The top trim adds adaptive DCC suspension, matrix LED headlights and smartphone-based remote parking. Maximum towing capacity reaches 1,200 kg. Anyone considering a European import should check warranty terms, the infotainment account region, and whether official software updates will still be available.
