Kia has opened German orders for the EV4 GT hot hatch. The dual-motor EV makes 292 hp, hits 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds and starts at €57,840.
Kia has opened German orders for the performance version of its electric hatchback, the EV4. The new EV4 GT starts at €57,840 and comes with two electric motors. The front unit produces 145 kW, the rear one 70 kW, for a combined output of 215 kW, or 292 hp. Maximum torque stands at 468 Nm.
The all-wheel-drive EV sprints to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds. Equipment includes electronically controlled dampers with road-surface recognition, a dedicated GT drive mode, simulated engine sound, and a virtual gearbox with artificial shift points. Visually, the GT stands out with 20-inch wheels, bright brake calipers, and a two-tone paint scheme.
The 81.4 kWh battery delivers up to 505 km on the WLTP cycle. With grippier tires, that figure drops to 473 km. For comparison, the front-wheel-drive EV4 with the same battery can travel up to 625 km, while the GT-Line version manages up to 584 km.
The base front-wheel-drive EV4, rated at 204 hp, starts at roughly €37,600 in Germany. That puts the GT premium at around €20,000.
