Isuzu D-Max EV arrives in the UK: 3% tax, 3.5-tonne towing, 1-tonne payload

Isuzu D-Max EV launches in UK: tax-friendly electric pickup isuzumedia.co.uk

Isuzu brings the D-Max EV to the UK, offering zero-emission drive, 3% tax, 1-tonne payload and 3.5-tonne towing for fleets and trades. Ideal for company BIK.

Isuzu is bringing an electric version of the D-Max pickup to the UK, aiming to benefit from tax shifts that have made diesel double-cab models far less attractive for businesses. Since April 2025, most double-cab pickups have been treated as passenger cars for tax purposes, sharply increasing the burden on diesel owners.

The new D-Max EV, with zero CO2 emissions, lands as a timely solution for fleet buyers. It carries a one-tonne payload and can tow up to 3.5 tonnes—figures some rivals can’t match. In everyday use, that means genuine workhorse ability without the tailpipe.

There’s also a clear financial hook: the electric D-Max is taxed at just 3% of its value, making it markedly more accessible for drivers using tax-advantaged leasing schemes.

Isuzu says the D-Max EV targets both corporate customers and private owners who value versatility and practicality. With its blend of capability and tax efficiency, it stands out as one of 2025’s more compelling entries in the commercial EV field.
