Kia turned the BIMOS 2026 show in Busan into a PV5 showcase, displaying police, food truck, school bus, mobile bank and pet retail versions of its electric van.
At the BIMOS 2026 show in Busan, Kia made its PV5 electric van one of the headline stories. The stand featured not only the standard passenger and cargo versions, but a whole range of specialised builds for the police, businesses and delivery services.

The most eye-catching exhibit was the police PV5 Passenger in black-and-white livery with blue and yellow accents. A separate Drone Station module sits on the roof: this version was built for the Korean police and uses a drone together with AI cameras for patrol duties. The pilot programme in South Korea is set to start in June 2026.

Next to it Kia presented more everyday variants. The PV5 Cargo wears a Ducati livery and plays the role of a service van for motorcycles. The PV5 Chassis Cab was turned into a Ben & Jerry’s food truck with a tall body extension and a serving window.

Another PV5 Passenger is dressed up as a school bus, while a cargo version built with pet brand Fitpet has been turned into a mobile showroom for pet products.

The most unusual commercial build is the PV5 Cargo High Roof set up as a mobile bank. In effect, it’s a banking office on wheels: the van can be sent to places where running a regular branch is not viable. For Korea, this isn’t just a show-stand fantasy but a hint at how Kia intends to sell the PV5 — not to private drivers but to services, companies and municipal clients.

Every one of these vans is built on the same E-GMP.S electric platform. Kia calls the project PBV, short for Platform Beyond Vehicle: the body and purpose can be tailored to the task. The PV5 is rated for up to 416 km of range, fast charging in around 30 minutes and a flexible architecture supporting up to 16 variants. In 2026 it earned the International Van of the Year title.
