British McMurtry Automotive teases the production version of its 1,000-hp electric fan car. The Spéirling Pure is track-only — driving it on public roads is off the table.

British McMurtry Automotive is preparing to launch the production version of the Spéirling Pure — one of the most unusual electric hypercars of recent years. The company has released a new teaser of the customer car, designed to translate the record-breaking prototype’s ideas into a limited-run track machine.

The main feature of the Spéirling Pure is not just the electric powertrain rated at around 1,000 hp, but also the Downforce-on-Demand system. The fans generate downforce almost independently of speed, giving the car high levels of grip even where conventional sports cars are still waiting on aerodynamics to kick in. McMurtry’s official site states that the fans can spin up to 23,000 rpm.

The Spéirling has already made a name for itself with records and demonstrations. McMurtry notes that the prototype set the outright hillclimb record at Goodwood and took part in spectacular tests showcasing its enormous downforce. According to 32CARS.RU, the Spéirling also beat the Top Gear test track record, surpassing a time held for years by a Formula 1 car.
