Tesla brings its pre-assembled Folding Unit V4 Supercharger to Europe. Faster install, 33% more stalls per truck, lower deployment costs — first site likely in Norway.
Tesla has kicked off the European rollout of its Folding Unit Supercharger modules. According to Teslarati, the company has shown off a new installation in Europe but hasn’t disclosed the exact location. Based on the photo, the source suggests it might be somewhere in Norway, though there’s no official confirmation yet.
Folding Unit Supercharger — is a pre-assembled station built around V4 hardware. It leaves the factory as a single module on a concrete base with a hinged design: on site, the unit just needs to be unfolded, connected and prepared for operation. Tesla introduced this architecture in March 2026. According to the company, the new format allows 33% more charging stalls to fit on a single truck, cuts installation time roughly in half and reduces deployment costs by more than 20%.
A single folding module combines a V4 cabinet with eight charging stalls. Peak cabinet output reaches 500 kW and is shared between the connected vehicles. One important detail — telescopic lighting poles: they fold down for transport and extend on site, eliminating the need for separate complex installation.
For drivers, the meaning is simple: if installation really does get faster and cheaper, Tesla can close gaps on highways and at major rest areas more quickly. That matters especially in Europe, where the network has to serve not only Teslas but also EVs from other brands. V4 cables are longer, so these stations are easier to use for cars with charging ports in different positions.
