Tesla has added Coastal Blue to the base Model Y RWD in Europe — the entry-level crossover's first true color option, mixed at Gigafactory Berlin and priced at €1,300.
Tesla has expanded the paint palette for its most affordable Model Y in Europe. The base version of the crossover finally gets a true color option — Coastal Blue. Until now, this Model Y could only be ordered in white, dark grey or black, and of those three only Stealth Grey comes at no extra cost — Tesla charges a premium for Pearl White and Diamond Black.
Coastal Blue was developed specifically for the European market. The paint is mixed at Tesla’s Berlin factory and is available only on the entry-level Model Y. Pricier versions of the crossover are offered in blue as well, but in a different, darker shade — Marine Blue. In China, meanwhile, the lighter Glacier Blue is offered. So the European Coastal Blue sits right between the two in tone.
You’ll still have to pay extra for the new color. Tesla’s website lists it at €1,300 — the same as Pearl White and Diamond Black. The base Model Y RWD itself starts at €39,990 in Europe. It’s a rear-wheel-drive version with 200 kW (272 hp), a 64 kWh battery and a WLTP range of 534 km.
