Nissan is ending Ariya sales in the Netherlands. The electric SUV is no longer configurable and is sold from stock only, with focus shifting to the new Micra, Leaf and Juke EVs.
Nissan Ariya is winding down its sales run in the Netherlands. According to AutoWeek, the electric SUV can no longer be configured online and is only available from existing stock. There are no plans for a direct successor: “Once stock is depleted, Ariya sales will be discontinued,” the Dutch Nissan importer told the publication.
What makes the move telling is that even a fresh facelift did not change the picture. As 32CARS reported earlier, the updated Ariya received a reworked front end, new lighting and a Google built-in infotainment system. The refreshed version reached Dutch dealers, but Nissan chose not to extend the model’s life cycle — the brand had already been clearing stock with discounts of up to 7,500 euros.
The numbers explain the decision. Roughly 2,200 Ariyas have been registered in the Netherlands over the entire run — modest for a mid-size electric SUV. The best year was 2023, when 630 cars hit the roads. Sales have only declined since.
Nissan’s main bet in the Benelux now rests on the new electric Micra, the next-generation Leaf, the upcoming electric Juke and a compact A-segment model (a close cousin of the Renault Twingo). The Micra is built on the Renault 5 platform and is positioned as a mass-market city EV. The Leaf, meanwhile, drops its hatchback roots to become a fully fledged electric crossover on the CMF-EV platform — the same architecture that underpins the Ariya.
