A German outlet ranked electric cars by cost per kilometer of real-world range. Ferrari Luce leads at 948 euros per kilometer, with Rolls-Royce Spectre Series II close behind.
A German outlet has put together a ranking of electric cars where each kilometer of realistic range turns into a luxury line item. The basis was data from EV Database as of June 5, 2026, and the “price per kilometer of range” figure under a moderate driving style.
For comparison, the most cost-effective car by this measure right now is the Tesla Model 3: one kilometer of range costs 79 euros. The luxury models in the ranking play in an entirely different league. Seventh place went to the Mercedes-Benz G 580: at nearly 143,000 euros and a realistic range of 395 km, every kilometer comes out to 361 euros. Next up is the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV — over 200,000 euros, 490 km and 409 euros per kilometer.
The top five also includes the Lucid Air Sapphire, priced around 250,000 euros with a 610 km range and 410 euros per kilometer, along with the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT Weissach: 240,000 euros, 475 km and 505 euros per kilometer. Third place goes to the Maserati GranCabrio Folgore — nearly 207,000 euros, around 395 km and 523 euros per kilometer.
Second place belongs to the Rolls-Royce Spectre Series II: over 395,000 euros, 515 km and 767 euros per kilometer. And at the very top sits the Ferrari Luce. At 550,000 euros and a realistic range of 580 km, every kilometer of range costs a staggering 948 euros.
