Maserati GT2 Stradale: a 250F livery that channels the spirit of old Formula 1

Maserati unveiled a special 250F-inspired livery for the GT2 Stradale at Monza, paying tribute to the F1 car that took Fangio to two world titles.
Maserati has revealed a special livery for the GT2 Stradale — the road-going supercar built around the GT2 race car. The colors nod to the Maserati 250F, the single-seater that carried Juan Manuel Fangio to Formula 1 titles in 1954 and 1957.
The launch took place at Monza during the opening round of the 2026 GT2 European Series. The same red-and-yellow scheme was also applied to a one-off Maserati GT2 race car. The body is mostly red, with a bright yellow strip running across the front, tridents added to the grille, behind the side windows and on the rear, and a white number 1 on the passenger-side front fender — just like on the 250F.

The historical link here runs deeper than a typical decorative trim. Fangio took the 250F to victory in Belgium, Monaco, France and Argentina. Stirling Moss won with the car in Italy and Monaco in 1956, and in 1958 Maria Teresa de Filippis became the first woman to qualify for a Formula 1 Grand Prix — behind the wheel of the same model.
Mechanically, the GT2 Stradale remains the most aggressive road Maserati. It is based on the MC20, uses the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 Nettuno and puts out around 640 hp. But in this version the buyer is paying for more than power. The livery turns the car into a personal reference to the era when Maserati was not just a premium marque but a Formula 1 winner.
The brand has not said how much the paint scheme will cost or whether it will be limited. But for a Fuoriserie customer this is close to an ideal scenario: the supercar becomes not louder, but more meaningful.
