2026 Buick Envision Production Ends in August, Future Model Uncertain

The 2026 Buick Envision production is set to end on August 28, 2026, with no confirmed plans for a 2027 model. High inventory levels and a potential production shift to the US add uncertainty.

Production of the 2026 Buick Envision is tentatively scheduled to end on August 28, 2026, according to U.S. media reports. That date could still change, as with any future GM production schedules. Dealer orders for the current Envision have already been closed.

The big question is what happens next with the model. General Motors hasn't yet set a start date for production of the 2027 Envision. Moreover, a source notes that it's still unclear whether the crossover will even get a 2027 model year.

One reason for the uncertainty is large stockpiles. As of May 22, 2026, there were 15,385 Buick Envisions at dealers or in transit in the U.S. At the current sales pace, that's more than 300 days of supply. At the end of April, the number was even higher: 16,873 vehicles and about 330 days.

The situation is also changing due to a future production shift. The current Envision is built in China, but GM plans to produce the next generation in the U.S. The automaker has already invested an additional $30 million in its Fairfax Assembly plant in Kansas, which is slated to build the new Chevrolet Equinox and a future Buick crossover believed to be a possible Envision successor.
