2025-2026 Chevrolet Equinox EV Brake Software Update

Brake Software Update for 2025-2026 Chevrolet Equinox EV chevrolet.com

2025-2026 Chevy Equinox EV brake software update available. Fix addresses reduced braking during low-speed ABS on rough roads. Over-the-air or dealer update.

A recently published GM service bulletin indicates that certain Chevrolet Equinox EV models may need a software update for the brake control module. The update targets 2025–2026 Equinox EV vehicles, though the exact number of affected units hasn’t been disclosed.

The problem shows up as reduced braking effectiveness during low-speed ABS activation, particularly when the road surface changes from smooth to uneven. This is strictly a software characteristic of the brake control module, not a mechanical fault.

GM instructs dealers to reprogram the module with the updated software. In many cases, however, owners can get the fix as an over-the-air (OTA) update, avoiding a trip to the dealership.
