Lexus TZ: Upcoming Three-Row Electric SUV for 2026
Lexus TZ electric SUV debuts in 2026 with three rows, up to 420 hp, 320-mile range, and a spacious cabin. Premium rival to Kia EV9, starting around $50,000.
Lexus is readying a three-row electric SUV, set for a May 6, 2026 debut. According to preliminary information, it will be named TZ, positioned as a more upscale counterpart to the Toyota Highlander EV.
So far, we’ve only seen a shadowy teaser. But the silhouette already tells a lot: a long roofline, an imposing stance, and proportions closely mirroring the upcoming Highlander EV. This Lexus will slot alongside the TX in the lineup, but instead of gas and hybrid power, it will run on a fully electric platform.
Expect dimensions around 5,080 mm in length and a wheelbase of roughly 3,048 mm. For buyers, that’s what matters — we’re not talking about a compact urban EV, but a proper family SUV with a genuinely usable third row and a roomy cabin. Inside, look for Lexus-grade premium materials and a large 14-inch infotainment screen shared with the platform-mate Toyota.
Trim levels are expected to follow the previously trademarked names TZ450e and TZ550e. The first could deliver 338 hp, while the second might push around 420 hp. A battery pack of up to 95.9 kWh is likely, which in the Highlander EV is said to yield roughly 320 miles (515 km) of range.
Pricing hasn’t been locked in yet, but an entry point of about $50,000 is anticipated. If Lexus holds close to that figure, the TZ would directly challenge the Kia EV9 and Hyundai Ioniq 9, but with a more premium badge.
Production is almost certainly headed to Toyota’s Kentucky plant, where the Highlander EV will also be built. For Lexus, this is a critical model: the large electric SUV segment is getting crowded fast, and buyers increasingly want more than just a battery — they expect space, range, and genuine family usability.
