The 2027 BMW 735 is the new entry-level 7-Series sedan with a 282-hp mild-hybrid inline-six, rear-wheel drive, and limited market availability. Learn more.

BMW is adding a new entry-level variant to its refreshed 7-Series lineup for the 2027 model year: the 735. This rear-drive sedan will be offered only in select markets outside Europe and North America. In Europe, the updated 7-Series already features the mild-hybrid 740 xDrive gasoline model.

The 735 is powered by a detuned version of BMW's 3.0-liter B58 turbocharged inline-six, paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. Total system output stands at 282 horsepower and 425 Newton-meters of torque.

As you'd expect for a flagship sedan, this isn't the most spirited setup. The 735 needs 6.9 seconds to hit 100 km/h (62 mph), making it slower than the diesel 740d xDrive, which does the same sprint in 5.7 seconds. Like the more powerful variants, top speed is electronically governed to 250 km/h.

The 735 becomes one of two rear-wheel-drive versions of the updated 7-Series, the other being the 740, which will also see limited market availability. Under the WLTP cycle, the base 735 returns as little as 7.7 liters per 100 kilometers. What makes the 735 notable is that even in the luxury sedan segment, BMW still offers a more affordable and fuel-efficient option, albeit one that prioritizes comfort over outright performance.
