Porsche 911 GT3 Manthey Records 6:50.863 at Nürburgring
The Porsche 911 GT3 with Manthey package laps the Nürburgring in 6:50.863, nearly five seconds faster than before, thanks to improved aero and suspension.
Porsche has taken the updated 911 GT3 (992.2) with the Manthey package to the Nürburgring Nordschleife and clocked a lap of 6 minutes 50.863 seconds. According to Porsche's press office, that's nearly five seconds quicker than the previous GT3 Manthey lap and 5.431 seconds faster than the standard 911 GT3 without the Manthey upgrades.
The key differences lie not in the engine but in the chassis tuning and aerodynamics. The Manthey kit includes revised front and rear aero elements, adjustable suspension with stiffer springs, and a reworked underbody with extended guide vanes. For the record attempt, the car wore optional Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires, designed for maximum grip.

The engine carries over unchanged from the standard 911 GT3: a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six producing 518 hp and 464 Nm of torque. It's paired with a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. Curb weight is listed at 1,482 kg. In its most aggressive configuration, downforce reaches 540 kg—almost on par with the claimed 544 kg of the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X.
This lap time illustrates a broader trend in modern sports cars: track gains increasingly come from aerodynamics, suspension, and tire development rather than raw horsepower.
Context matters, though. According to a source, the Corvette ZR1X has already posted a 6:49.275, while the Ford Mustang GTD sits at 6:40.835. So while the 911 GT3 Manthey's time is impressive for a road-going GT3, it doesn't put Porsche at the top of the current Nürburgring leaderboard.
