Tesla removes Model Y Long Range RWD in Europe, hikes prices €1,000. Base model starts at €40,990, next trim at €50,990. Delivery times extend to 3 months.

Tesla has reshuffled its Model Y range in Europe, cutting down the number of trims while raising prices. The update targets the core of the lineup and directly impacts buyer choices.

The configurator no longer lists the entry-level Long Range rear-wheel drive variant. Now, the next step up from the base car is the pricier Long Range Premium, with a price gap of over €10,000. The base Model Y starts at €40,990 and offers 534 km of range, while the next trim comes in at €50,990 with 609 km.

The rest of the range remains unchanged: the Long Range AWD is priced at €52,990 and the Performance version at €62,990. All trims have increased by €1,000. The seven-seat option is still available, but only for one version and costs an extra €2,500.

The significant changes are in the middle of the lineup. Previously, buyers could choose a balance between price and range, but that option is gone. Formally, the choice is simpler, but in practice, it's harder: customers either save money with the base model or jump to a much pricier segment.

Delivery times are also increasing again, now up to three months. That indirectly points to a revival in demand, especially given intensifying competition from Chinese brands and anticipation of new Autopilot features.

The Model Y is now more expensive and has a simpler structure, but choosing between versions now requires more compromises.
