BMW unveils the M2 Coupe RR Edition, a limited-run model (only 10 cars) paired with M 1000 RR and S 1000 RR superbikes, featuring a black-and-red design and M Performance upgrades.

BMW has unveiled an unusual limited edition that brings together the M2 Coupe and two superbikes—the M 1000 RR and S 1000 RR—in a unified stylistic project. Named the M2 Coupe RR Edition, it marks the first collaboration between BMW and BMW Motorrad divisions for the South African market.

The core idea isn't about technical breakthroughs but visual synergy. All three models share a black body with red accents. The M2 Coupe features Black Sapphire Metallic paint, an aerodynamic body kit, carbon-fiber components, and M Performance parts. Inside, a black-and-red theme with contrast stitching and sporty details carries the look.

Technically, the car stays close to standard: under the hood is a 472-hp inline six-cylinder engine, available with either a manual or an 8-speed automatic. Upgrades include an M Performance sports suspension with a 20 mm drop and an Akrapovic exhaust. Production is extremely limited to just 10 cars, five with each transmission type. Sales begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.

The M 1000 RR and S 1000 RR motorcycles also get exclusive styling with a black base and red elements, carbon parts, and RR logos. The only technical upgrade is an Akrapovic exhaust. The S 1000 RR is priced at around $25,000, while the M 1000 RR runs about $53,000.

This project represents a new format for premium special editions—focusing on uniqueness and emotional value rather than power. For BMW, it's a way to strengthen brand appeal among wealthy enthusiasts who want to buy not just a single car or bike, but an entire collection.
