Mercedes unveils the next-gen Maybach S-Class at Beijing Auto Show with refreshed design, V12 option, advanced autopilot, and luxurious tech features tailored for China.

At the Beijing Auto Show, Mercedes unveiled the next generation of the Maybach S-Class, a model that once again sets the benchmark in the ultra-luxury segment. The new car features not only a refreshed design but also a major technological upgrade, tailored primarily for the Chinese market.

On the outside, the sedan is even more striking: a larger illuminated grille, updated headlights with the double-star motif, and exclusive trim details emphasize its status. Particular attention went to the details, from two-tone hand-painted bodywork to the signature wheels with a floating emblem effect.

The cabin remains the main highlight of the Maybach. It houses the new MB.OS infotainment system, which integrates autonomous driving, comfort, and entertainment functions. The dashboard is a single glass panel, while rear passengers get near-business-jet treatment: power-adjustable seats with up to 43.5 degrees of recline, massage, footrests, and two large screens.

Notably, the system can now read passenger behavior via cameras and algorithms, automatically adjusting climate and lighting. The Burmester audio system with 35 speakers turns the cabin into a full concert hall. The biggest tech innovation is the advanced autopilot. In China, the car will be able to drive itself from a parking spot to the destination and back, including complex parking scenarios.

Under the hood, there is a choice of three powertrains, including a rare-for-today V12. Also available are a V8 and an inline-six with hybrid assistance.

Maybach stays true to itself: maximum comfort, maximum status, and now maximum tech. It is especially telling that China is becoming the main test bed for its most advanced features.
