At Auto China 2026, Avatr unveiled the 012 Kim Jones – not just a pricey version of the Avatr 12, but an attempt by the Chinese brand to break into designer luxury territory. The journalists from 32CARS captured the car both outside and inside: it features a sleek body without a traditional grille, 21-inch wheels, a light interior, large screens, and a fashion boutique-inspired trim. The limited edition is priced at 700,000 yuan and limited to 700 units.

The Avatr 012 is based on the Avatr 12, but it's more than just a Kim Jones badge. This special version was co-developed with designer Kim Jones, known for his work with Dior and Fendi. The photos clearly show how visually clean the car is: a smooth front end, slim lighting, hidden door handles, camera mirrors, and a nearly coupe-like roofline. Unlike a typical business sedan, the 012 sells not just range but an image—expensive, calm, and unmistakably designer.

The interior follows the same concept. Instead of the usual crowded dashboard, there’s a light-colored finish, a rectangular steering wheel, a wide digital screen at the base of the windshield, and a separate central display. It feels more like a lounge than a standard Chinese electric car. For Avatr, this model is important as a showcase of possibilities: the brand demonstrates that Chinese cars can compete not only on price but also on style.

Technically, the Avatr 012 is related to the Avatr 12. Its length is 5020 mm, width 1999 mm, height 1450 mm, and wheelbase 3020 mm. Underpinning it is a fully electric platform, a Huawei DriveONE system, and a CATL Qilin battery with fast charging: from 30 to 80 percent in roughly 10 minutes. What’s under the hood? The dual-motor version delivers a total output of 425 kW, or about 570 hp, and a CLTC range of 650 km.

What sets the limited edition apart from the standard Avatr 12 is less about architecture and more about the level of trim. It comes with a special Liquid Silver paint, exclusive 21-inch wheels, a light premium interior, and personalized decorative touches. In this sense, the Avatr 012 is closer to special series from Mercedes-Maybach or BMW Individual than to standard 2026 model year cars.
